Fast Cycle Production
(FCP) is a manufacturing philosophy that was founded on the same
principles first employed by the champions of the Toyota Production System
(TPS). While similar to some of the approaches found in the Lean
Manufacturing technique, FCP has a very unique approach and provides very
powerful productivity tools that empower companies to realize phenomenal gains,
both in terms of productivity as well as profit.
Fast Cycle Production uses many tools to measure,
demonstrate and prove potential process gains. Among these are the introduction
and use of computer based simulation tools like Rockwell's Arena, Lanner
Witness, Enterprise Dynamics, Promodel and lower-end platforms like ShowFlow
Simulation Software. Other important process-improvement techniques we utilize
include Kanbans (and
their proper use), Dynabans, Gating-Process Folding, Group Technology,
Single-Unit Flow, Process Mapping and Opportunity Analysis to name a
few.
Though you may have seen some of these tools used in the past (and possibly
fail), Fast Cycle Production is unique in its approach to
on-going process improvement. Whereas many process improvement consultancies
can help you see gains (some faster than others), an FCP process improvement
implementation sets a foundation for "continuous improvement" (kaizen) that can ONLY be
achieved through leadership that has a proper set of core values (VBM - Values based
Manufacturing). And unlike many other consultancies, we practice what we
preach and help you see your potential gains much more quickly than with other
Lean initiatives.
